Frequently asked questions

About twigged

What is twigged?
twigged is a membership-based support platform designed to transform how families experience therapy. It bridges the gap between diagnosis, overwhelm and day-to-day life by turning therapeutic thinking into practical, usable tools families can apply immediately

What does “transforming therapy” actually mean?
It means moving therapy out of the clinic and into real life. twigged takes therapy-informed models and translates them into simple tools, shared language and structured support that families can use at home, at school and in everyday moments, without needing to be in constant 1:1 therapy.

Who created twigged?
twigged was created by Gee Eltringham, a Bristol-based qualified psychotherapist specialising in neurodivergent children and families. It was shaped by both professional practice and lived experience as a parent navigating the system herself

Who is twigged for?
twigged is for parents, carers and caregivers supporting a neurodivergent child, whether pre-diagnosis, post-diagnosis or somewhere in between. It is also used by educators and clinicians who want shared tools and language with families

Is twigged only for ADHD?
Right now, the core toolkit focuses on ADHD. The approach also supports overlapping profiles such as anxiety and emotional dysregulation, with an Autism toolkit planned next.

How twigged works

Is twigged therapy?
twigged is therapy-informed but it is not a replacement for individual psychotherapy. It provides structured tools, guidance and support that complement therapy, or act as an accessible alternative when therapy is unavailable or insufficient.

How is this different from courses or parenting programmes?
Most courses explain concepts and then leave families to apply them alone. twigged combines learning with live touchpoints, shared problem-solving and optional real-time support, depending on the tier. It is designed to reduce isolation, not add homework.

How is the toolkit delivered?
The ADHD toolkit is delivered digitally over six weeks in short, accessible modules including video, audio and downloadable tools. Content is paced deliberately to avoid overwhelm and allow learning to settle.

Can I go through the toolkit at my own pace?
Yes. Content is released weekly, but you can revisit materials anytime during your membership. Progress over perfection applies here too.

twigged Membership

What are the twigged membership tiers?
twigged has three membership tiers, each offering a different level of support. All tiers include access to the ADHD toolkit and a monthly live seminar led by Gee on a core toolkit topic.

What is Connect?
Connect is the calm starting point. It suits families who want understanding and structure, and are happy to apply tools independently with light expert guidance.

What is Support?
Support adds momentum. It includes weekly small-group AQA clinics where families can anonymously ask questions, share challenges and problem-solve with guidance from Gee.

What is Thrive?
Thrive is high-touch support. It includes everything in Support plus personalised 1:1 messaging support, designed for families who feel stuck, overwhelmed or need reassurance in real time.

Can I change tiers later?
Yes. Many families start with Connect or Support and move up if they need more support. You are not locked into one path.

Is there a minimum commitment?
Membership runs monthly, with a minimum commitment of three months.  This covers the six week toolkit delivery period, plus at least three live seminars.

Support, clinics & live elements

What is a monthly seminar?
A live, practical session focused on one core toolkit theme. It is designed to deepen understanding, answer common questions and help families apply tools confidently.

What is an AQA live clinic?
AQA stands for All Questions Answered. These are small group sessions where families bring real situations and Gee works through them using toolkit tools and applied thinking.

Are clinics therapy sessions?
No. Clinics are educational and supportive, not psychotherapy. They focus on skill-building, understanding and practical application.

What does 1:1 messaging support include?
Thrive members can message Gee for personalised guidance around applying toolkit tools. This is not crisis support or therapy, but real-time reassurance and direction when things feel hard.

Safety, boundaries & crisis support

What if my child is in crisis?
twigged is not a crisis service. If you are worried about immediate safety, contact your GP, NHS 111 or emergency services. twigged focuses on building skills and confidence over time.

Is twigged suitable for complex needs?
twigged works best alongside appropriate clinical or medical support where needed. It can support families navigating complexity, but it does not replace specialist care.

Evidence & approach

Is twigged evidence-based?
Yes. Tools are grounded in established psychological and therapeutic models, adapted into accessible formats for everyday use

Why does twigged avoid clinical language?
Because language shapes behaviour. twigged uses plain English to reduce fear, shame and overwhelm, while still respecting the science behind the tools.

Does twigged take a strengths-based approach?
Absolutely. Neurodivergence is treated as difference, not deficit. The focus is on building skills, understanding nervous systems and creating environments where children can thrive.

Practical questions

Can educators or clinicians use twigged?
Yes. Professionals use twigged to align language and tools with families and support consistency across home and school.

Can more than one caregiver access the membership?
Yes. twigged encourages shared understanding between caregivers wherever possible.

Is twigged accessible for neurodivergent adults?
Yes. The platform is designed to be ADHD-friendly, low-overwhelm and accessible by default.

Big picture stuff

What is twigged trying to change?
twigged exists to change the experience of support itself. Less waiting. Less confusion. Less feeling judged. More clarity, confidence and connection for families navigating neurodiversity.

Is twigged a course, a service or a collective?
It is all three, intentionally. Education builds understanding. Support builds confidence. Collective because it's a "for good" business. Together, they transform therapy into something families can actually live with.

Already transforming therapy

3 weeks ago we were in the darkest of ADHD days… What a turn around it has been . Small wins do add up . Thank you for everything.
SJ, Bristol
I understand my child in a way that suddenly makes sense after all these years . No book or course has ever been able to explain it to me in this way
KO, Somerset
Why has it never been explained to me like this before. This help is magic.
